Regulations for Employment





StaffCo is committed to excellence in quality, reliability, service and professionalism to our employees and to the clients we serve. Read below to learn more about how we conduct our business.

You Work for StaffCo
Remember that StaffCo is your employer regardless of where you are assigned to work. StaffCo pays your wages and is responsible for your withholding taxes, payroll FICA, worker's compensation, unemployment, etc. Therefore, any problems associated with reporting to work, missing work, being injured on the job or other job related problems should be reported immediately to StaffCo.

It is understood that employment with StaffCo is an at-will relationship and either party may terminate the employment relationship at any time with or without cause. No employee of StaffCo other than the President or Vice President may enter into an employment contract with another employee. Such employment agreement must be in writing.

Equal Employment
StaffCo is committed to equality among all employees and compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local employment laws. The company has and will continue to afford equal employment to all qualified individuals regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age disability or sex. You are encouraged to contact the manager of your local StaffCo branch office if you have any questions, problems or complaints pertaining to this policy.

No Fees
There are no fees required of you when working for StaffCo. Our clients (StaffCo Customers) pay for the employment services provided to them.

Time Cards
Turn in your time card on or before 11:00 a.m. on Monday of each week.
Your time card should show all the time worked during the previous week from Monday through Sunday.
Drop your time card off at your StaffCo office unless other arrangements have been made. If you mail it and we do not receive it by 11:00 a.m. on Monday, you may not be paid until the following week.
Required information on time card :
Your name and Social Security number
Your signature
Date, hours worked, total hours
Authorized signature by your assigned supervisor or company manager is a must
One time card is needed for each employer if more than one in a week
Time cards are your responsibility. If not handled according to the above procedures your paycheck may be delayed.

Pay
You are an hourly employee and your hourly wage may vary from one job assignment to another. You will be paid for actual hours worked. Hours exceeding 40 between Monday and Sunday will be eligible for overtime pay at a rate of 1.5 times the hourly rate per hour.

Paychecks will be available for pick-up at the StaffCo office after 8:00 a.m. on Friday and will be for the previous weeks work. Checks not picked up by 5:00 p.m. will be mailed to your home address that you have on file with StaffCo unless other arrangements have been made.

If your check is mailed by request or because it is not picked up by 5:00 p.m. Friday and is delayed or lost in the mail, you must wait for 7 days before a stop payment may be made and a new check issued. A stop payment fee will be assessed and deducted from the reissued check. If you receive the original check later, return it to StaffCo immediately.

Notify StaffCo
If you change your address or phone number.
If you're injured while on a work assignment.
If you're offered employment directly with a client company.
If you cannot report for a job assignment.
If you complete a work assignment, you must notify StaffCo of your continued availability for work. Failure to report for another assignment will be considered a voluntary termination and a separation of employment with StaffCo. You must reapply if interested in future employment.

Attendance & Punctuality
Attendance and punctuality are vital to the satisfaction of our customers. Employees are encouraged to maintain excellent records in this area. If you are unable to report for work or you expect to be late, contact StaffCo at least two hours before you are scheduled to report. If you call when the StaffCo office is closed, leave a message on the answering machine. You must contact your job site supervisor to inform them if you are going to be late or if you will be absent.

If an employee does not report to work and does not notify StaffCo or if employee leaves work without notice, it will be considered a voluntary termination and a separation of employment. In order to be considered for future employment, employee must reapply as a new employee.

Safety & Health
StaffCo has an exceptional safety record. Your attention to our client safety rules and a constant awareness of possible hazards on the job will help us maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

If an injury occurs on the job, get emergency first aid treatment as soon as possible and notify your on-site supervisor and the StaffCo office immediately. If an accident occurs during the evening hours when the StaffCo office is closed, contact the office by 10:00 a.m. the following morning. Failure to report injuries in a timely manner may result in loss of benefits otherwise available to you.

Drug Free Workplace
Numerous problems exist as the result of the use and abuse of alcohol and drugs in the workplace. It is the intention of StaffCo to create a drug-free workplace in keeping with the spirit and intent of all drug related laws and regulations, including the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.

As a general policy, StaffCo prohibits the unlawful manufacturing, distribution, dispensation, possession, sale or use of alcohol or a controlled substance in the workplace, including the workplace of a client company. Such conduct is also prohibited during non-working time to the extent that in the opinion of StaffCo it impairs an employee's ability to perform on the job, creates an unsafe working condition or threatens the reputation or integrity of StaffCo. Any violation of this policy may subject an employee to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

If you feel you have a drug or alcohol problem and need professional assistance, you may contact a StaffCo representative for guidance and referral for available rehabilitation programs.

Harassment
It is the policy of StaffCo to ensure a work environment that is free of harassment. Harassment is defined as a hostile environment and harassment in any form by any person will regarded as serious misconduct, which is subject to disciplinary action up to and including discharge.

If you feel that you have been the victim of harassment as a result of your employment with StaffCo, immediately report the incident to the Manager of your local StaffCo office. Appropriate corrective action will be taken.

Resolving Problems
StaffCo makes a good faith effort to solve problems in a fair and equitable way. If you have a job related problem or a personal problem that affects your employment, contact your StaffCo representative for assistance.

Resignations & Terminations
StaffCo is hopeful that your employment with us will be a long term association. We are happy you joined us because we strive to employ the best quality people we can. To maintain these high standards and to give our customers the best services available, we need to protect the integrity of the organization as exemplified through the people we employ.

StaffCo will, therefore, view the following and similar incidents to be cause for disciplinary action and possible termination. We are confident that most of our StaffCo employees will avoid such experiences.

Negligence towards safety
Stealing or cheating on time cards
Working while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Assaults or threats of harm to others
Missing work assignments
Disrespect or insubordination
Violation of StaffCo's or a client's rules and regulations
Before making final decisions in such matters, employees will be given ample opportunity to explain their actions to StaffCo management.

Benefits

Holidays
Employees are paid holiday pay if they work 1,000 hours during the previous 52 weeks before the holiday. Employees must work the day before and the day after the holiday in order to be eligible for pay. Holidays will be paid at the average number of hours worked (up to eight) during the previous 52 week period.
The following are paid holidays :

New Years Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Holiday pay is paid at the employee's current rate of pay.

Vacations
Employees receive vacation pay if they work 1,500 hours or more during the previous 52 week period. The hours of vacation pay will be an average of the hours worked per week (up to 40) during the previous 52 week period.

Health Insurance
Health insurance information is available for those employees requiring medical coverage. Ask your StaffCo representative for assistance.

Employee Responsibility
It is the employee's responsibility to notify a StaffCo representative when the number of hours to qualify for benefits has been reached.
